Mark your calendars for this neighborhood holiday favorite! The Holiday Cookie Exchange and Visit with Santa will be on Saturday, December 17th. Once again, the event will be held at the Little Red Store in the Village with apple cider, hot chocolate, and cookies for all. Please

Please see details below for how to register, if needed, and the timing of the activities.

10:30am–11:30am—Cookie exchange for pre-registered adults. As in past years, we will exchange cookies in half-dozen packages. Each baker will bring a specified number of packages of their cookie and go home with the same number of packages getting one from each of the other bakers. Arrive anytime after 10:30am. Cookie exchange will happen at 11am. To register, contact Stacey Muller at staceymuller@wi.rr.com or call 414-257-9682 by December 7th.

11:15am–12:30pm—Visit with Santa and other family fun. Santa will read some stories, then each child will have a chance to tell Santa their Christmas wishes and take a picture (bring your camera!).

There will be cookies to eat and fun holiday-themed crafts for kids. Arrive at 11:30am if you want to be there for Santa’s arrival. Otherwise, come anytime before 12:30pm. There is no cost or need to register.

Calling all Santa’s helpers! Any LDW teens who would like to earn volunteer hours by helping set up the event, assist with the crafts, or participate in the clean-up, please contact Megan Kimps – megankimps@gmail.com.■

Fall Fest Recap

Our 2016 Fall Fest was a success! Many families came out to Jackson Park Blvd for an evening of fun and great food. Kudos to Michele Teofilo, event coordinator for her hard work. She had help from committee members Karen Roy, Kelly Roberts, and Gail Heitzer – well done!

Congrats to Dean Teofilo for winning first place in the annual chili contest. He proudly earned bragging rights for the year and the traveling ladle trophy.

collageThere’s nothing like getting together with friends to watch a movie. Neighbors gathered on Stickney Avenue last week for the annual neighborhood outdoor movie night. The attendees enjoyed great company, great snacks, and two great movies. A special thank you to the Heiges’ for hosting the event and Jim Gerhke for setting up the big screen.
