About

Lowell Damon Woods Neighborhood Association Inc. (LDWNA) is an apolitical organization of residents in about 500 households south and west of Wauwatosa’s City Hall and Public Library. We are bounded on the north by North Ave.; on the east by Wauwatosa Ave.; on the south by, but not including, Hillcrest; and on the west by the west side of 83rd St.

LDWNA, also referred to as “Damon Woods,” is a non-profit organization of volunteers from the neighborhood. We elect a board of directors at our meeting in September and the board elects its officers. Board meetings are open to all neighbors, and are scheduled during the second week of January, March, May, July, September and November. The dates are announced in the newsletter and members pay annual dues.

We’re one of 25 independent neighborhood associations in Wauwatosa. We organized in 1995.

Our neighborhood is named for Lowell Damon, a pioneer settler of  Wauwatosa whose home at 2107 Wauwatosa Ave. is the oldest in the city. Part of that house is a museum owned by the Milwaukee County Historical Society. Much of the land in our neighborhood once belonged to the Damon family.
