New Signs Coming to Damon Woods

LDWLogoSoon signs with the new Lowell Damon Woods Neighborhood Association logo will be placed on 12 city streetlight poles throughout our neighborhood! As a means of further identifying this great neighborhood, the LDWNA board began the process about one year ago to determine whether we could place signs throughout our neighborhood on streetlight poles, similar to signs that identify many City of Milwaukee neighborhoods, such as Enderis Park and Washington Heights. The Director of Public Works graciously agreed to provide the labor and brackets to affix the signs to the poles without charge. With this support, we recently applied for approval to the city Board of Public Works and the Common Council to place the signs on city streetlight poles. I am proud to say that both bodies unanimously approved our request. The signs will be placed primarily near the boundaries of the neighborhood.

While the LDWNA Board approved payment for the signs with LDWNA funds, any donation to support the production of the signs would be appreciated. The cost to produce each sign was $135. The LDWNA Board is excited to present these signs for the neighborhood, a first for Wauwatosa. Hopefully it will spread throughout the city, promoting Wauwatosa as a city of great neighborhoods, with neighbors who care about their community.
